Giuseppe Desiderio

Giuseppe graduated with honors in Law from La Sapienza University of Rome, with a Commercial Law thesis supervised by Professor Oppo.

He then assisted profs. Oppo, Gambino, Minervini and Ferro-Luzzi in the Department of Commercial Law and of Banking Law. He worked in the Prof. Gambino’s Firm, and then in Banca d’Italia for two years (1990-1992), during which he passed the bar.

Giuseppe is specialized in corporate, contractual and insolvency law, particularly in the banking and financial sectors. He has been a member of numerous extraordinary and liquidation organizations in penalty procedures involving banks and financial intermediaries. He was also a member of the board of a bank pension fund from 2004 to 2008.

From 1994 to 2001 he was visiting professor at the “Cà Foscari” University of Venice, Faculty of Economics (supplementary courses in Banking and Commercial Law).

Since 2007, he has been working as associate professor of Law in Economics (Banking and Financial Market Law) at the “Parthenope” University of Naples, Department (former Faculty) of Law.
